Khundrukar

Two centuries ago the Dwarven kingdom of Bar-Kazad fell to a horde of trolls and orcs. Only a few scattered groups of survivors managed to escape. One such group, led by Durgeddin the Black found their way to the caves underneath the Stone Tooth, the tallest hill south of the Stonewood. The survivors founded the stronghold of Khundrukar (Glitterhame in the common tongue).

Durgeddin was a master smith, and though the halls of Bar-Kazad fell, many of their secrets were preserved with him. Notably, Bar-Kazad’s blades were legendary for their quality. In the forges of Khundrukar Durgeddin taught his craft to other dwarves, and their weapons were widely sought. Widely sought too were the gems of Khundrukar: named ‘Gliterhame’ for the incredible wealth of the mines the Dwarves dug.

Their stronghold was a secret for only 1 century before the greenskins of the Stonelands found them. After a hard-fought siege that lasted months the orcs and their troll allies tunnelled through the defences and slaughtered the defenders. Since then, the halls have been home to savage humanoids and fell beasts.
